Ever thought about catching the rain from your roof? Come join Eric Phillips and Sustainable Kashi for a 2-part Permaculture Series on rainwater harvesting! January 18, 2014 - 9-12 - Part 1 "Beyond Rain Barrels" Learn the basics of sizing and designing a rain water catchment system for your home and garden. Participants will learn: proper system sizing, planning for average rainfall, planning for storm events, material options for cisterns, techniques to keep debris out and water clean. February 15, 2014 - 9-12 - Part 2 "Hands Dirty Workshop" Construct and install a rainwater catchment system on site. Participants will learn: how to construct a water catchment system with a focus on sourcing local materials, how to keep costs low, leveling the site, defining structure size, erecting and down water spout plumbing. $30 per class.
