Atlanta has warmed up again and is hosting the hatching of many box elder bugs.
They hatch into this world with a huge appetite, preferring the female box elder tree, but will nosh on a variety of plant material.
Their eggs can be found in cracks of stone / mortar / concrete and bark. They'll use the underside of leaves.
I've not yet experienced a bite from them, and would've noticed as I have disturbed them often over the years.
Several applications of a liquid soap and water solution will eradicate the young & old adults.
Do a Google search for more information and photos of the 'lifestages,' to best indentify them.
