The above photo is of the Black Crested Night Heron, which is not often viewed during daylight hours.
Mount Dora is in the interior of Florida, with lakes and canals. Of course, they would only be TRULY FLORIDIAN with gators lurching around.
This gator was in a cypress swamp area that connected Lake Dora to several residential canal networks.
