Malabar Spinach . . . .

This is the first year that I've planted Malabar Spinach at Kashi Atlanta.
It is a delicious, and strong climbing vine with delicate pink flowers.

The thick leaves have a crisp snap to them and a definite spinach flavor.
Malabar spinach is drought tolerant.  These vines will continue to produce upto our first strong frost.  I am hoping that they'll grow beyond that time with a light floating row cover.  Most spinach loves cooler weather.
In tropical regions (USDA Zones 10 & 11), it will grow as a perennial.
